Each year brings a number of events to the Moriarty area. On July 4th, the annual parade is held on Main Street (old Route 66) in Moriarty. The Moriarty Lions Club holds a pancake breakfast, and a Farmer's Market (with other vendors), including entertainment by local bands, takes place in Moriarty City Park. The 4th of July Children's Rodeo is also held.

Wildlife West Nature Park, in nearby Edgewood, holds a major music festival on the first weekend of August each year. Major acts from around the nation join local bands for a Friday to Sunday event. Food, vendors, and wine tasting - and, of course, full access to the zoo - round out the fun. Wildlife West also holds Chuckwagon Suppers with live entertainment every Saturday over the summer. Other events include a Green Energy and Wind Festival, Bear Fair, annual Hammers and Hooves blacksmith championship, and Harvest Festival.

October brings the Pinto Bean Fiesta, which includes a parade, Farmers market and other activities in Moriarty City Park, and live entertainment.

The lights come on in December during Moriarty's Festival of Lights. This includes holiday lighting all along Old Route 66 in Moriarty, a parade, and open house with local businesses.

June brings the Single Action Shooting Society's End of Trail event south of nearby Edgewood. Thousands of cowboy action shooting enthusiasts - competitors and spectators alike, descend on SASS's Founders Ranch. Food, vendors, competitions, and concerts make this a great way to spend a day, or a weekend.
