Welcome to Moriarty, New Mexico and the Surrounding Area!
Moriarty, New Mexico describes itself as the "Crossroads of Opportunity," and that characterization may be true both literally and figuratively. Located at the intersection of three major highways - Interstate 40, New Mexico State Road 41, and historic Route 66 - the city of Moriarty is a mere 29 miles from Albuquerque, New Mexico, the state's largest metropolitan area. Moriarty is also a major travel center, with plenty of motels, restaurants, truck stops, and a host of retail and service businesses in addition to government operations, including (but, of course, not limited to) the New Mexico Motor Vehicle Department, the Edgewood Soil and Water Conservation District, and the Workforce Connection of New Mexico. The Moriarty-Edgewood School District, serving Moriarty, Edgewood, southern Santa Fe County, and northern Torrance County, is also headquartered in the city. Moriarty is one of New Mexico's most business-friendly communities, with proactive planning and zoning, and boasts the region's only municipally-owned industrial park. Municipal water supply and sewer service are available throughout most of Moriarty, including the industrial park. The Moriarty Municipal Airport serves the Estancia Valley and is convenient to both local destinations and Albuquerque.
